Conduent Transportation, a business unit of digital interactions company Conduent Incorporated, will continue to help ease travel across Los Angeles County by modernizing the tolling system on ExpressLanes with the latest in automated technologies. The upgrades will save drivers time via reduced congestion, while also improving safety on both the I-10 and I-110 corridors. Conduent Transportation announced the appointment of John Peracchio as general manager, Mobility Solutions and Strategy. Based in Detroit, Peracchio will be responsible for creating future business models and developing strategies that offer long-term growth for Conduent Transportation. He will use his knowledge of the industry to identify emerging innovations and technologies, as well as potentially disruptive practices, inside and outside the company, while seeking new business opportunities.

ParkWhiz announced today that it added an additional $5 million in equity to its recently announced Series D financing, bringing the total funding round led by NewSpring Capital to $25 million. The additional funding includes investments from strategic investors including Amazon’s Alexa Fund, Alate Partners, Chaifetz Group and Purple Arch Ventures. The proceeds will be used to further expand the company’s industry-leading Arrive Network – ParkWhiz’s friction-free parking network. As an extension of its recent Toronto-wide launch, ParkWhiz is providing travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport a new way to park at the airport. Starting today, travelers heading to the largest airport in Canada can find, reserve and pay for parking in advance through the ParkWhiz and BestParking apps, as well as the company’s distribution partners, such as Groupon, Ford, and Ticketmaster.

Drexel University and Passport announce the launch of the PassportParking® mobile application in select lots across the university’s campus. The mobile app, which has a growing presence in the Philadelphia area, is also available in the boroughs of Morton, Swarthmore, Phoenixville, Kennett Square and West Chester. Signs and decals will be displayed to direct drivers to where the PassportParking app can be used in over 1,500 garage and lot parking spaces. Passport announced it ranked No. 98 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in North America. Passport is the fastest growing mobility company on the list, receiving recognition for its rapid growth of more than 1,200 percent over the past three years. Vigilant Solutions, an AI and data analytics company, today announced it has teamed with ParkMobile to provide a solution designed to expedite payment verification of parking permits and pay-by-phone accounts by enforcement officers. The integration creates a parking payment verification solution by combining ParkMobile’s parking permit and pay-by-phone systems with Vigilant Solutions’ cloud-based software and license plate recognition (LPR) detections, which includes the date, time and location of the vehicle siting.
TIBA Parking Systems’ Bluetooth technology (BLE), ParkBlue, was successfully implemented in Ohio and Indiana for monthly transients at multiple sites. Since July, hundreds of monthly users have utilized the first garages installed by Signature Control Systems in partnership with TIBA Parking Systems. Monthly parkers at these locations now have the ability to gain frictionless access to the garage using their branded mobile app.
INDECT USA and Parking Guidance Systems (PGS) jointly announce the latest installation of the UPSOLUT multi-function camera sensor in Garage C at Dallas Love Field Airport, Texas. The brand-new, seven-story, 5,000-space parking garage is the third garage at Dallas Love Field Airport to be fitted with an INDECT parking guidance system.
Mall of America unveiled a new parking guidance system that has been installed in two primary parking ramps along with surface parking areas. The system – which is now operational and assisting guests – is designed and installed by Park Assist, an innovator in parking guidance specializing in camera-based technology.
European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has entered into a collaboration with the UK’s second largest airport, London Gatwick (LGW). ParkCloud is pleased to announce that passengers flying from Gatwick’s North and South terminals will now be able to reserve their parking through its extensive online network across a number of the airport’s parking products.
PCAM, LLC (dba Parking Company of America) announced that they have officially been awarded the Parking Facilities Services Management contract for 26 locations spread throughout Regions 1 (Civic Center), 2 (Downtown Area), and 3 (Outlying Areas) of Los Angeles County’s parking facilities portfolio. These regions include servicing iconic facilities such as The Los Angeles Music Center (Ahmanson Theater, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum, and Walt Disney Concert Hall) and Grand Park.
The City of Berkeley, California selected SKIDATA to be a part of their downtown visitor improvement project which included a brand-new parking garage for vehicles and bicycles. The Center Street Garage’s engineering and design provides a convenient central parking location with nearly 50 percent more parking spaces than the structure it replaced. The SKIDATA project includes eight lanes of Power.Gate columns outfitted with print at home readers and EMV credit card processing at all exit lanes along with Barrier.Gates.
Allpro Parking is again operating valet services for Mercy West Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bon Secours Mercy Health, an Ohio not-for-profit corporation, asked Allpro Parking to return to improve the customer experience at both the medical office building and the main entrance of the hospital. They were able to offer Mercy West Hospital valet services with more supervision, training, and follow up that reflects the compassionate care they offer inside.
