Parkare Sets Sights On U.S. Parking Market

July, 2009

The Parkare Group, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, has begun to focus on the U.S. parking equipment market. Launching its effort this year at the IPI show in Denver, the company hopes to eventually have a big presence in the world’s largest parking marketplace.
Parkare has a global presence, with more than three decades of serving the parking marketplace in Europe, the Middle East, South America and Asia. This will be its first entry into the U.S.
The group consists of three companies – Mabyc, Ibersegur and Alfia – and carries a complete portfolio of on- and off-street parking, including parking automation systems, automatic car guidance systems and pay-and-display equipment.
Group Managing Director Santiago Font told Parking Today that his company is committed to the U.S. marketplace. This month, Parkare is expected to announce its North American management team and the final selection of its U.S. manufacturing facility, Font said.
“We are committed to providing the best local support and service for our products here in the U.S.,” he said. “That means a U.S. management team and manufacturing.
“The U.S. market is one of the most vibrant,” Font said, “and we feel that our product line – covering both on- and off-street products – fits perfectly with the needs of the market.
“Mabyc-Ibersegur’s recent purchase of UK-based Alfia gives us a complete high-end line of revenue control equipment,” he said.
“The launch of the Parkare Group at the IPI means that we are committed not only to quality products and service, but also to the U.S. parking industry,” Font said.
