PayByPhone announced the appointment of Jonny Combe as global CEO. Thirty-six-year-old Combe, already part of the senior leadership team, will work alongside current CEO Andy Gruber, who has been in the role for four years, during a transition period starting July 1, 2022. Gruber will exit the role effective August 1, 2022, to take up a senior management position within PayByPhone’s parent-company Volkswagen Financial Services AG. 


Ascendi, a highway operator in Portugal, has modernized 22 toll plazas on the highways A7 and A11 of Norte Route and 4 plazas along the A16 of Grande Lisboa. The goal was to renew the toll collection equipment to achieve a state-of-the-art level of automation of the toll plazas and reduce the slowdown of the traffic flow during toll collection as much as possible. For this purpose, overall 188 lanes have been equipped with front and rear OCR Tattile Basic ANPR Cameras.

MSC and the Town of Hancock, MD have entered into an Agreement for MSC to provide a full line of parking management solutions which includes mobile payment, virtual permit management, and more.


Zeem Solutions announced a $50 million capital commitment from a fund managed by ArcLight Capital Partners, LLC. Funding under the commitment will enable Zeem Solutions to expand its innovative business model, which provides customers the opportunity to operate battery-electric trucks, vans, and shuttle buses for a flat monthly fee – inclusive of vehicle lease, charging, maintenance, and insurance – at a lower cost than owning and operating a gas or diesel fleet.


Centerpark announced the acquisition of two more assets in Midtown, adding 40,000 square feet of garage space to its growing portfolio. Purchased from Muss Development for $8,250,000, the properties are currently leased by Icon Parking and are located at 58 West 58th Street and 222 East 58th Street in high-traffic districts with diverse parking demands.


Harvard Developments partners with Nortech Parking Systems. Harvard selected Nortech to install two new TIBA X60 Systems at the Hill Centre and Rose Street Parkades in downtown Regina. This includes 8 lanes of revenue and access control, 8 new barrier gates, 3 pay stations, the TIBA Mobile Access App, Cloud-Hosting, and a comprehensive Support Program. The installation was completed in May.


ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. announced the addition of Rick Wilmer to its leadership team. As chief customer and operations officer at ChargePoint, Wilmer will oversee customer service and manufacturing operations for the company as it continues to bring vertically integrated charging solutions to businesses, fleets and drivers at a faster growth rate than ever.


Parker Technology announced a series seed round of $2.2 million, led by Elevate Ventures and several other investors. The influx of capital will be used for accelerating sales and marketing, and scaling operations to support the brand they’ve built. The capital will support Parker’s ability to sustain high growth and maintain the quality and innovation it’s known for. Elevate Ventures first became an investor in 2018 and appointed Chris LaMothe to serve as its representative on Parker’s board of directors.

UK parking technology provider YourParkingSpace has been acquired by global urban mobility firm Flowbird. The acquisition sees Flowbird join forces with YourParkingSpace, the UK market leader in off-street parking technology solutions. The business processes thousands of advance and on-demand parking reservations daily across the UK.


Phoenix Parking Solutions, a contactless parking management company based in Atlanta, allows customers to improve their experience by leaving feedback in real-time with Phoenix’s contactless valet technology. Phoenix owner Jeff Patterson aims to improve operations and the overall parking experience. “By using the feedback that customers give us we can improve the value and convenience of digital parking services even more,” says Patterson.


Spot Parking has announced a partnership with Athena Partners Strategy Group, a government relations and technology consultancy, to expand Spot’s smart parking and curb digitization management systems across the nation. Spot Parking has developed a data platform enabling: Digital inventory of parking assets, Real-time analysis of curb and garage utilization via tracking technology, and Interactive parking guidance for users.


Parker Technology recently launched a beta version of two new innovative platform features: Mobile Queue and Mobile Endpoint, which comprise their Mobile Suite offering. “The parking industry is transforming digitally faster than ever, and mobile-first is quickly becoming the norm. Blink Charging Company has entered into an agreement with the Township of Winslow, N.J. to deploy five Blink IQ 200 dual port fast Level 2 EV chargers to be installed, providing 10 charging ports. The Township of Winslow will own and operate all the new EV chargers. SemaConnect, a Blink Charging Company, has partnered with Athena Partners Strategy Group to revolutionize access and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging amenities across the nation.

Automotus announced that it will welcome parking industry veteran Roamy Valera, CAPP as the company’s first President in August 2022. The announcement comes during the highly-anticipated 2022 International Parking & Mobility Institute Conference and Expo in New Orleans. Valera is an internationally respected C-suite executive with more than 33 years of parking experience.


Duncan Solutions, a full-service transportation management company and a leading provider of parking and tolling management solutions, is pleased to announce a $25,000 donation in support of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana. Duncan’s parent company, Navient, along with its other subsidiaries recently extended their multi-year partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America.


Beam Global announced a partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment that allows Volvo CE’s 245 North American dealer locations to bundle Beam EV ARC off-grid charging systems with a purchase of Volvo electric equipment. Beam Global announced a $927k order for Beam Global’s energy storage solutions to power autonomous on-demand delivery drones. The battery packs include Beam’s patented thermal management technology for superior safety, higher energy density and longer life.
