Derq has deployed an end-to-end solution to address burning needs in pedestrian and cyclist safety. In collaboration with Control Technologies, Inc., Danlaw, and CeVe, Derq has most recently demonstrated in Florida its ability to prevent collisions between drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists using a variety of approaches, including connected vehicle messages, flashing pedestrian signs, actuating traffic signals, and smartphone application alerts.

IBI Group Inc. has acquired mobility solutions provider, HotSpot. Founded in New Brunswick in 2013, HotSpot began addressing parking issues through technology and has since developed into a suite of integrated mobility solutions. Currently, the platform is in use across Canada and parts of the U.S., with more than 80 municipalities, cities and universities.

Kevin Woznicki has announced that Scott Petri has joined the firm as a principal at Park Trans. The company was formulated to identify the needs of cities, municipalities, universities and hospitals relating to parking, mobility and curb management, and their mission to fill their clients’ requirements with technology with integrated, best of class solutions.

Alchemco announces the promotion of Ed Easton to the role of Director of Operations. Easton has been with Alchemco for more than five years, previously serving as Director of Technical & Warranty, making him the ideal candidate to oversee the company’s high-level operational needs. The U.S. Army veteran was the clear frontrunner to lead the company’s operational needs based on his success in his previous role and natural leadership abilities.

NMI and Scheidt & Bachmann have strengthened their partnership by integrating a new payment solution for parking pay stations across the UK. With travel picking up, so have transactions associated with tolls, tickets and parking meters. This partnership will enable more seamless and dependable payment capabilities to parking station operators by giving them more choices.

Parkopedia has launched a new Amazon Alexa Skill for voice-enabled parking assistance, supporting the millions of Americans who plan to travel by car this summer. According to the American Automobile Association, a record-breaking 43.6 million Americans were estimated to have driven to their destinations during the July 1–5 period alone last year – the highest on record.

In June 2022, Denison Parking began the management of a new 600-space self-park garage for Gillette Children’s of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Denison Parking has expanded to 27 Minnesota locations: Minneapolis, Rochester, and now Saint Paul. As part of our growth, we have become involved in the local community. Denison Parking has also begun the management of parking for The Stutz, a 441,000 square foot mixed-use office and creative space in Indianapolis. The historical complex is currently under redevelopment to become a live-work-play destination district.

GET IT Corporation, a parking technology solutions company, announced the winner of the PIE 2022 GET IT Demo Participant Drawing, Dan Kulynych, Director of Business Development, Consolidated Parking Equipment. “Thank you to GET IT for the $500 Visa Gift Card,” said Kulynyuch, Director of Business Development at Consolidated Parking Equipment. 

At the beginning of 2022, the Smart 2HD from Tattile was chosen as the best suitable ANPR camera in a tender issued by the Basque Government in Spain to be installed along the main roads in the region. Local Basque authorities aim to create traffic flow statistics, including an origin/destination matrix to obtain information on how and where vehicles are moving in the area.

As of March 2022, the highway concessionaire in Slovenia DARS successfully introduced the Slovenia Electronic Vignette on highways for motor vehicles with a maximum weight of up to 3.5 tons. For this vehicle class, the new digital E-VINJETA completely replaces the former sticker vignette. The new electronic vignette is linked to the vehicle plate number.

Parker Technology has been partnering with the University of Houston since July of 2021 to provide 24/7 customer support, with two-way video technology, in the University’s parking facilities. With Parker’s customer service solution, students, faculty, staff, and visitors parking in campus parking facilities can quickly reach a Parker Technology customer service representative if they experience problems when entering, exiting or paying.

Flowbird’s Marketing Manager, Julianne Wilhelm, has been elected onto the Board of Directors for the Florida Parking and Transit Association. Julianne will serve for a two-year term where she will join 11 other Board Directors, including the President and Past President. Julianne, a Florida native, joined Flowbird as Marketing Manager in 2017. Flowbird Group has announced the deployment of an integrated fee collection system for Palisades Interstate Park Commission, in partnership with local distributor, Devo & Associates. The solution expands on the success of the Flowbird system deployed in 2015 at the Commission’s popular Fort Lee Historic Park.

Metropolis Technologies, the mobility commerce platform powered by advanced computer vision and a proprietary machine learning system, today announced a $167 million Series B capitalization. 3L Capital and Assembly Ventures co-led the round, with participation from leading growth equity investors Dragoneer Investment Group, Eldridge, Silver Lake Waterman, and UP Partners.

Blink Charging Co. announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire SemaConnect, Inc., a provider of EV charging infrastructure solutions in North America, for $200 million subject to certain customary adjustments for working capital. The cash and common stock transaction will add nearly 13,000 EV chargers to Blink’s existing footprint.

Jordan Ramer, CEO of EV Connect, says that equipment manufacturers, network operators and software providers that can provide the most open and interoperable EV-charging environment possible will lead the industry. The El Segundo, California–based startup was just acquired by global electric equipment and services giant Schneider Electric.

Beam Global announced that the State of California has awarded contract #1-22-61-16 to supply EV ARC sustainable EV charging systems through the Department of General Services (DGS) to Beam Global. California state, local and municipal government entities, and government entities in other U.S. states, can purchase Beam products at the California negotiated price.

Concord Parking is excited to announce its New Brunswick branch rollout and contract with the provincial health networks.
