Parkopedia has partnered with APCOA PARKING Group to deliver automated, seamless digital parking payments that drivers now expect from within their vehicles. By leveraging ANPR technology at APCOA’s car park locations across 13 European countries, drivers will be able to seamlessly enter and exit car parks without requiring a ticket, or needing to stop at a pay station.


Authorized TIBA VAR Group member company Traffic & Safety, a provider of parking technology in Michigan, has recently received approval to replace the underperforming parking system at AHC Hospitality (Amway, JW Marriott, Courtyard) in Grand Rapids, MI.  With the flexibility of the X60 platform AHC will be able to implement prepay parking in these four modern parking facilities that provide mixed use parking for Hotel and Event Centers in the Grand Rapids Area.

Residents and visitors to historic Dania Beach, Florida will now have a better parking experience thanks to PayByPhone. The leading global provider of mobile parking payment solutions, PayByPhone now offers safe, convenient parking payment for 627 spaces in the city’s ungated parking lots. “We’re excited to be introducing our contactless parking services in Dania Beach,” said Roamy Valera, CEO of PayByPhone. The parking experience at South Dakota State University is getting an upgrade thanks to PayByPhone. The leading global provider of mobile parking payment solutions is now providing safe and convenient contactless parking for 70 parking spaces across three lots serving students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Metropolis Technologies, the developer of advanced technology for mobile commerce, announced the acquisition of Premier Parking. The combined company will operate as Metropolis and employ nearly 2,000 staff. The merger will expand the network of Metropolis-powered facilities to more than 600 garages and lots in nearly sixty cities with more than 130,000 parking spaces. 


Digital curbside management and intelligent parking firm, AppyWay, has announced the launch of their new parking app, AppyParking+. Building on the success of the UK’s most awarded parking app, AppyParking+ is the copilot every driver needs and comes packed with new features and insights designed to help drivers find the cheapest and nearest parking to their destination. Leveraging AppyWay’s comprehensive 5 million miles of digitized, standardized, and centralized curbside data across the UK, AppyParking+ will target London and aim to slash up to 12 minutes off the 4.6 million trips that happen every day. This waste of time, money, fuel, and emissions costs the London economy a staggering £4.3 billion every year, according to research conducted by Inrix.


Durham County Council has awarded NSL, a Marston Holdings company, a five-year contract for the provision of parking enforcement services. The two organizations have been working in partnership since 2000 and, under the new contract, NSL will continue to provide enforcement of on and off-street parking regulations, including the management of park and ride sites and penalty charge notice processing. 


Vehicle entries and exits from the train station in the Belval district of Luxembourg are now monitored by Quercus Technologies license plate recognition units. Belval has two train stations operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned company that manages Luxembourg’s rail system. Rail lines branch out from the capital of the Great Duchy to their destinations around the country.


ChargePoint Holdings, Inc., a leading electric vehicle charging network, today announced that Antara Capital LP has agreed to make a $300 million investment in ChargePoint through the purchase of convertible senior notes to support ChargePoint’s growth initiatives. Under the terms of the investment, Antara Capital LP will purchase a total aggregate principal amount of $300 million in 3.50 percent / 5.00 percent Convertible Senior Notes due 2027. 


Get My Parking is proud to be announced as one of the five winners of Cohort 5 of the MAIL (Mobility and Innovation Lab) program, a startup accelerator initiative by Maruti Suzuki, the largest automotive manufacturer of India. Nanoprecise, Amigo Labs, AiBorne and NRV DesignX were the other winners among the eight startups that had been shortlisted for the final round of Cohort 5. Irish start-up Wayleadr, which is developing tools for “last-mile automation” for commuters, has raised $4 million in a new funding round. Previously known as ParkOffice, Wayleadr wants to revamp the way that buildings manage traffic coming to and from their properties using machine learning. The funding round was led by New York VC firm Third Prime. In its original incarnation, Wayleadr provided businesses with ways to manage parking lots at their businesses.

This major infrastructure upgrade will help meet demand for the growing use of EVs across the borough. Wokingham EV drivers can access Flowbird Smart City UK’s App which charges for both the parking session and the kW consumed – this innovative trial allows the council to offer combined or separate parking and charging rates. Flowbird Transport Intelligence, a division of Flowbird Group and leader in transit fare payment systems, is proud to announce it will be expanding its fare payment solutions for Metro Transit, the public transportation operator in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota. The expansion includes 185 Strada StreetSmart Ticket Vending Machines, including Flowbird’s cloud-based analytics platform, Flowbird Hub, that will service the agency’s new Bus Rapid Transit routes. Parking in the City of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania continues to undergo noticeable improvements in 2022. The Bethlehem Parking Authority has announced its partnership with Flowbird Group and Butts Ticket Systems to modernize its parking system with advanced user-friendly parking pay stations. The upgrade will replace the Bethlehem Parking Authority’s aging multi-space parking meters in favor of Flowbird’s CWT Touch pay stations, fully equipped with the industry’s latest technology. The Bethlehem Parking Authority also launched Extend by Text, the newest feature by Flowbird that allows users to extend their parking session directly via text.

Blink Charging Co., an owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle charging equipment and services, in partnership with Virginia Clean Cities, announced the deployment of six charging ports along Route 81 at the Hampton Inn Woodstock. The deployments have been funded in part by a grant from the Mid Atlantic Electrification Partnership through Virginia Energy. They are part of more extensive efforts in the region by Virginia Clean Cities and Blink to make EV charging infrastructure accessible along travel corridors and create a regional EV ecosystem.

Chase announced that it will pilot public fast electric vehicle charging stations across 50 of its U.S. branches beginning this summer. This adds to the firm’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability in its retail locations as it also aims to expand on-site solar power to approximately 400 additional branches by the end of 2022. To bring the charging stations to branches, the bank partnered with EVgo, an innovator in transportation electrification. The company builds, owns and operates the nation’s largest network of public DC fast chargers, powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

Terminal One, the new open-air parking lot at Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana station, was inaugurated on April 7. The station is managed by Ferrovie Emilia Romagna and can be recognized from a distance by the grandiose sail-shaped structure designed by the world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava.
