Parkopedia has partnered with Sunny Cars, one of the largest rental car specialists in Europe, to provide parking information to their drivers, via the ‘Sunny2go’ web application. Parkopedia helps millions of drivers to find parking every day, and will now provide Sunny Cars customers with parking information for both street and car park locations across 89 countries worldwide.


LAZ Parking has partnered with Diamond Communications LLC to market 3,400 parking garages and related properties owned and managed by LAZ to wireless service providers. These locations may be suitable for wireless equipment deployment on existing structures or newly developed towers. Through its strategic acquisitions and continued expansion into key markets across the United States, LAZ has grown into one of the nation’s leading parking services companies. LAZ currently has locations in over 450 cities across the country.


TEZ Technology was a part of the grand opening of the new Marriott International Headquarters in Bethesda, MD. The $600 million project includes approximately 785,000 square feet of Class A office space that accommodates more than 3,500 Marriott International team members, as well as an adjacent 12-story hotel. The iconic project contains a five-level, 811-space underground parking facility connecting the hotel and the headquarters building.


Concord Parking and SFU’s contract was announced effective June 2021. Concord Parking has been awarded the contract to provide parking management services for Simon Fraser University, located in Burnaby, B.C. SFU is one of Canada’s largest universities with 37,000 students and 6,500 faculty and staff. This represents one of Concord Parking’s largest contracts to date. The SFU contract will allow Concord Parking to showcase newly developed in-house parking management software designed specifically for university applications.


Denison Parking began parking management for ELEVEN, the newest luxury condominium in Minneapolis, now the city’s tallest residential building. The two-level public parking structure includes 126 spaces. At 41 stories, ELEVEN is three stories taller than The Carlyle and is now the tallest residential building in Minneapolis. For Minneapolis, this is the first residential condominium designed by the influential New York City-based design firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, in partnership with Ryan Companies. Robert A. M. Stern and his firm are known for designs that capture the spirit of a project’s surroundings. Decades of research and innovation by the firm have created dwelling spaces as functional as they are stunning. For example, the building includes a special door for dogs and their owners to access the surrounding parks.


Phoenix Parking Solutions, an Atlanta-based parking management company that is completely digital, cashless and contactless, is encouraging clients to replace antiquated equipment with digital systems that cater to consumer preferences while also solving many of the problems that garage and lot operators have been facing for decades. Phoenix owner Jeff Patterson offers his clients a more profitable approach for added value and convenience through an all-in-one mobile parking software.


FLASH announced a $250+ million strategic investment led by Vista Equity Partners. Vista is joined by existing lead investor L Catterton, other prior investors, and management. The minority investment will be used to expand FLASH’s mobility operating system and payments platform, extend digital services, and invest substantially in talent to support FLASH’s exceptional growth.

HONK and Platinum Parking, a Dallas-based parking management company, announced today a partnership that will facilitate flexible, contactless parking payments at commercial properties across the country. Starting immediately, properties managed by Platinum Parking in Orlando and Cleveland will offer patrons and residents a safer, faster, and more convenient way to pay for parking. “Now more than ever, businesses are looking to implement more efficient contactless procedures for their parking facilities,” said Brad Lang, Regional Vice President, Platinum Parking.


Joseph Weidenboerner eagerly embraces his new position on the sales team at Richard N. Best Associates. Fleet Advantage announced that Brian Antonellis, CTP and Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations presented at the ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council’s 2022 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in March in Orlando, Florida. In addition to Antonellis’ speaking session, Fleet Advantage acknowledged National Asset Management Awareness Month in March by offering complimentary fleet modernization studies for fleets at the conference.


Fleet Advantage announced that the company has been named one of Monitor’s 2022 Most Innovative Companies in Equipment Finance for the second consecutive year. Monitor’s 2022 Most Innovative Companies in Equipment Finance award recognizes the most innovative companies in the equipment finance ecosystem within various industries including transportation and logistics.


Beam Global announced that it received a $2.4 million order from mobile EV charging company SparkCharge for its Beam AllCell™ battery storage products. The order was placed through two purchase orders from SparkCharge, one for approximately $1.9m and one for approximately $500k. Beam Global announced that it has successfully closed the all-stock transaction to acquire AllCell Technologies, a leader in energy storage solutions and technologies, announced last week. Beam Global announced that the City of Costa Mesa in Orange County California has deployed an EV ARC™ solar-powered EV charging system to charge the Senior Center electric shuttle bus and other City fleet electric vehicles. 


WGI, Inc. announced that Ravali Kosaraju, P. Eng., PE, PTOE has been named Director of Mobility for the firm. In her new role, Kosaraju will oversee transportation and mobility projects across the United States for WGI clients, including private developers, universities, hospitals, and municipalities. “I am excited to announce Ravali Kosaraju’s appointment as WGI’s Director of Mobility,” said Jeff Brophy, PLA, ASLA, VP of WGI Inc. 


Residents and visitors to North Bay Village, Florida, will now have a better parking experience thanks to PayByPhone. The leading global provider of mobile parking payment solutions, PayByPhone now offers safe, convenient parking payment for 455 spaces across four locations. “We’re excited to welcome North Bay Village to the long list of South Florida cities offering contactless parking services,” said Roamy Valera, CEO of PayByPhone.


Bosch and Mercedes-Benz showcase automated valet parking at InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel. The demonstration in a hotel setting highlighted the dynamics of local deployments of highly automated parking technology including low-speed automated maneuvers and how consumers and parking garage operators benefit from use of automated parking technology.


In March, ACE Parking, in partnership with Spanish companies EYSA and SETEX, began managing the parking facilities at 34 major and mid-major airports in Spain. This includes Madrid and Barcelona Airports. The relatively short-notice project opportunity (34 airport scope due in less than 60 days) came to Steve Burton, ACE President, and Shane Henning, ACE General Manager at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport through a European Wayfinding provider contact who reached out about the RFP to gage ACE’s interest.


Allpro Parking has recently announced that Kyla Krathaus has been promoted to Human Resources Generalist. Krathaus has been a member of the Allpro team since June 2021, when she was hired as Talent Acquisition Specialist. The California Mobility & Parking Association changed its name from California Public Parking Association and has launched a new website to serve members across California. Members are encouraged to sign into the new website, californiaparking.org, to explore features and benefits such as open career opportunities, legislation efforts, Requests for Proposals, association newsletter and blog, as well as upcoming events and info on our annual conference.


The Board the Carolinas Parking and Mobility Association has elected and installed new board officers for two-year terms leading. At the annual January meeting, the Board elected new officers. They are: President: Carl DePinto, MBA  – Duke University & Duke Health, Durham, NC; Vice President: Clint Joy Carolina Time & Parking Group, Charlotte, NC; Secretary: Joshua Puckett East Carolina University, Greenville, NC; Treasurer Pamela Corbin, Parking for City of Greenville, S.C.


In March, Denison Parking began managing parking services for Cherry Creek Shopping Center, in Denver, Colorado. Operations include valet services, a combination of two parking structures, and several surface lots totaling 5,700 spaces. Perry Griffith III, President of Denison Parking, said, “We are proud to enhance the Cherry Creek Shopping Center experience. Parking is the first and last impression a guest has on a business.”


Verra Mobility announced the appointment of Jon Baldwin as Executive Vice President of Government Solutions, effective April 4, 2022. Mr. Baldwin previously served as President of Fortive’s Gems, Sensors and Controls business, a global supplier of industrial sensors and control components. He brings 26 years of experience leading global business operations, including a focus on business-to-government software and services.

After many growth stages and 14 successful years as CEO of EasyPark Group, Johan Birgersson has decided to step down from his position to enable a leadership transition ahead of the company’s next phase. Cameron Clayton, previously CEO of “The Weather Company”, will take over the role as CEO of EasyPark Group as of April 19, 2022.
