Honk announced a partnership that brings contactless parking payments to Washington DC. With HonkTAP drivers can now pay for parking with a simple tap or scan of their phone. “We’re thrilled to partner with USP Parking and equip their Washington parking facilities with our contactless payment technology,” says Michael Back, Honk President and CEO.


AppyWay announced that Dorset Council is the first council to have transitioned to AppyWay’s end-to-end Traffic Order (TRO) Suite. The move to AppyWay’s map-based solution comes at a pivotal time for Dorset as the council looks to collaborate more effectively, better consulting with traffic teams across the county, all whilst transitioning to remote working as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.


Tattile Vega Smart cameras have been chosen for two tolling projects recently deployed in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Both projects included the installation of stationary enforcement gantries equipped with Tattile Vega Smart 2HD cameras to continuously control if trucks using the highway have paid the relative toll fee. According to local authorities of the city of Pilar, Argentina, on average 60 vehicles per day crossed the unsupervised railroad crossing of the San Martìn railway even when the train barriers were closed, and a train was already approaching. This led to negotiations between the railroad company Trenes Argentinos and the municipality of Pilar to install a mechanism avoiding accidents caused by these unauthorized crossing of the tracks using traffic monitoring cameras with number plate recognition software. Finally, the first intelligent low-barrier railroad crossing enforcement system in the country was implemented using a Tattile Vega Smart Red Traffic Light camera.


Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. The Mayo campus in Scottsdale/Phoenix is expanding its existing 1.7 million-square-foot facility, adding 1.4 million square feet, almost doubling in size. The campus will also be incorporating a new 1,721 space parking garage. Park Assist has also been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for One Loudoun in Ashburn, Virginia. The mixed-use development, owned and operated by Retail Properties of America, is Loudoun County’s top destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Beam Global announced the deployment of the first Beam-branded EV ARC 2020 charging unit. The unit joins hundreds of other EV ARC units already in use across the U.S., and was deployed simultaneously with the company’s announced rebrand as Beam Global to the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. The company also announced the deployment of the EV ARC™ 2020 charging unit for Georgia Power at the 23rd Annual Motul Petit Le Mans event at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Beam Global announced a new collaboration with the City of San Diego to deploy solar-powered EV charging infrastructure across the city. In this first-of-its-kind deal, Beam Global intends that its patented EV ARC 2020 charging stations will be deployed in both city-owned and business locations through a public-private partnership with a corporate sponsor. In October, Beam Global conducted the world’s first Flying on Sunshine flight in a Pipestrel, production electric aircraft, powered completely by Beam’s EV ARC unit delivering off-grid, sustainably generated, locally stored energy.


ParkMobile announced a new partnership with Diamond Parking in San Diego, expanding the app’s availability to over 40 locations and adding 2,000 more parking spots throughout the city. The company also announced a new partnership with the City of Boynton Beach to allow residents and visitors to pay for parking with the ParkMobile app, now available at nearly 400 off-street spaces at Oceanfront Park Beach and Harvey Oyer Park. ParkMobile also announced a new partnership with the borough of Westwood, New Jersey, enabling residents and visitors to pay for parking on their mobile device. ParkMobile announced a new partnership with Park First to provide contactless payments in several cities across Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama. The ParkMobile app will now be available to use at 3,600 parking spaces at Park First locations in the cities of Houston, New Orleans, and Mobile. 


Passport is bringing digital parking payment technology to more people through partnerships that utilize its Operating System. Through new partnerships with PlusPass and PapayaPay, Passport is continuing its commitment to providing convenient options to pay for parking that are seamless, equitable and easy for cities to manage. The City of Topeka, Kansas will be introducing the Passport Parking mobile app. The app will be the first mobile pay solution for parking in the city.


CSX Corp. announced that Arthur Adams has been promoted to senior vice president of sales. Los Angeles International Airport’s Intermodal Transportation Facility-West, a new four-story parking structure and mobility hub located east of LAX, celebrated the ahead-of-schedule topping out of major concrete with the last of 72,000 cubic yards being poured. The 1.75 million-square-foot facility opens next summer.

SKIDATA has been selected by the City of Tampa to create and implement a city-wide gated parking revenue control system. The advanced system will offer seamless LPR capability by allowing exiting without stopping to pay. “We are excited to be partnering with the City of Tampa to create this state-of-the-art parking revenue technology,” said Alex Franco, business development manager for SKIDATA’s Southeast region.
