ParkVia has committed to employing voice booking technology for its users in 2020, enabling it to move further towards presenting the most preferable parking option, first time for each and every customer. A recent study
found 4 in 10 smart speaker users will regularly make purchases via voice by 2021, as search moves firmly from a place of answers to a state of action.  


Denison Parking, an Indianapolis-based parking operator, has announced the acquisition of all EZ Park’s operations effective January 1, 2020. “We are pleased to welcome Barry Widduck and his entire team to Denison,” says Jeff Line, President of Denison Parking. This acquisition adds 12 properties and 5,000 parking spaces to the over 60 properties.


Parkopedia and EasyPark announced a partnership that allows drivers who are parking in EasyPark-enabled locations to automatically start their street parking and pay through their MercedesPay account. The new on-demand parking service offers drivers an easy solution for parking payments, through their Single Sign-On account with the automotive manufacturer, directly from their vehicle.


After a competitive tender process, Brisbane City Council has announced Database Consultants Australia (DCA) as the supplier to deliver its infringement management solution. The contract will see DCA partner with Council to implement an industry best practice infringement management system, streamlining Council processes and delivering a better service to Brisbane residents.


APCOA PARKING Sweden, has completed the acquisition of the Swedish parking operator XPERT Parkering AB. XPERT manages around 40,000 parking spaces with a geographical focus on the Skåne region in southern Sweden. “This acquisition combines the strengths of two well-matched companies and brings together two strong management teams with complementary skills and capabilities,” says Philippe Op de Beeck, CEO of the APCOA PARKING Group.

Duncan Parking Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of CivicSmart, Inc., is pleased to announce the enhancement of its AutoISSUE handheld enforcement software to support the City of Atlanta’s acceptance of multiple parking payment apps for on-street parking. In 2016, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey awarded DESIGNA the largest airport PARCS replacement project ever undertaken. The contract is in excess of $70 million and replaces the Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems at all four of the Port Authority’s international airports. The three-year project launched in 2017, with phased installation beginning in 2018, plans to replace parking systems at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR),

Barnacle Parking Enforcement has integrated their Enterprise Management System with United Public Safety’s parking enforcement management solution.  The new integration will support mutual customers including Allentown (PA) Parking Authority. Park Assist has been selected to install its M4 Parking Guidance System (PGS) at the University of California San Diego’s newly constructed Living and Learning Campus. Assist has been selected by RED Development to install its M4 Parking Guidance System (PGS) at SouthPointe Pavilions in Lincoln, Nebraska. SouthPointe Pavilions is a bustling open-air shopping destination featuring over 55 shops, restaurants, and a movie theater complex.


ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the U.S., announced the launch of service at the University of Georgia’s main campus in Athens. Students and visitors will be able to use the ParkMobile app to easily pay for parking at 2,400 spaces across campus in both lots and decks. ParkMobile has also recently partnered with CityParking Inc. in Richmond to enable residents and visitors to easily pay for parking from their mobile devices.

Oklahoma City Council approved a contract in January to implement a mobile phone parking app in partnership with Flowbird, a supplier of urban mobility solutions. The smart mobile parking solution will allow users to pay for parking with their iPhone or Android devices. Flowbird Group is proud to announce that The Village of Lake Placid, New York, home to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, has partnered with Access Technology Integration (ATI), Flowbird’s upstate New York distribution partner, to launch a new Pay-by-Plate parking system.

At CES 2020, FlashParking unveiled their Mobility Hub Operating System: a platform powering the evolution of isolated parking assets into connected mobility hubs that are more efficient, intelligent, and adaptable than garages and surface lots of the past. FlashParking announced that it has received a $60 million strategic investment from the Growth Fund of L Catterton. The investment will be used to scale FlashParking’s cloud-based parking system that enables 21st-century parking and the evolution of isolated parking assets into connected mobility hubs. OHBA Home Builder of The Year, Tridel, has awarded LocoMobi World the contract to install their License Plate Recognition (LPR) system and CondoPark parking management software at Scala, designed by Wallman Architects, in Bayview Village, North York. The fully integrated cloud-based system provides automated entry to the parking garage for residents and registered guests by reading license plates.


Videalert, a UK supplier of intelligent traffic enforcement and management solutions, has supplied Wiltshire Council with a new mobile enforcement vehicle (MEV) which is initially being used to enforce residential permit parking in Salisbury.  The vehicle is equipped with a complete suite of Videalert software giving it the ability to be used in future for a wide range of safety-related parking applications.
