TagMaster, a supplier of advanced sensor systems for Smart Cities, has delivered its CitySync ANPR cameras for use in 30 airports in Norway in cooperation with APCOA Parking Norway. In total, 400 ANPR cameras have been deployed in order to facilitate entry and exit of numerous parking facilities at the airports. The cameras were installed as part of the APCOA CPMS (Car Park Management System) which is using ANPR cameras to identify vehicles entering and exiting the car parking facilities at the airports.

Park Assist has been awarded a contract to install its camera-based Parking Guidance system at Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s newest parking garage. Park Assist contracted with Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions to address navigational guidance needs in the garage. Park Assist has also won the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for The Outlook Building at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Sitting opposite to Schiphol’s Headquarters, the Outlook Building is home to Microsoft’s headquarters in The Netherlands as well as for Spaces, Cargill and other international tenants.

When Raleigh-Durham International Airport decided to upgrade their entire parking infrastructure, they identified the need to provide the more than 11 million annual visitors with a modern and convenient parking experience. As part of their Vision 2040 Master Plan, the airport expanded their parking offerings to provide easy and convenient options to meet the varying needs of their many visitors. The massive 14-car-park installation includes a total of 19 Entry Lanes and 29 Exits with an impressive 19 Automatic Payment Machines (APMs) from Skidata.

Curbway announced the development of a comprehensive curb management platform that paves a realistic pathway for cities to control and manage their curbside assets. The platform serves as an intermediary between cities and their parking & enforcement vendors, delivery & shipping providers, TNCs, public transportation resources, and other emerging multi-modal
mobility assets.

SP Plus Corporation announced that it has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Baggage Airline Guest Services, Inc. and Home Serv Delivery, LLC, their subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Bags”), for an all cash purchase price of $275 million. Bags is a leading provider of baggage delivery, remote airline check in, and other related services, primarily to airline, airport and hospitality clients.

The world’s largest association of parking professionals, formerly known as the International Parking Institute (IPI), has changed its name to the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI). The change reflects the interconnected, choice-driven network that now encompasses parking, transportation, and mobility.

ParkWhiz is establishing the Arrive Network to make it easier for drivers, fleets and their vehicles to park in lots and garages without pulling a ticket or reserving a spot in advance. A powerful last-mile solution, the Arrive Network combines new wireless technologies with ParkWhiz’s parking platform and industry-leading parking inventory footprint. 

Park’N Fly announced a new promotion aimed at rewarding Aeroplan members. Until December 21, 2018, Aeroplan members can earn 250 bonus Aeroplan Miles when they stay at Park’N Fly’s Valet locations in Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver – and Self Park locations in Ottawa and Edmonton.

TIBA is making it easier for drivers to park without pulling a ticket or reserving a spot in advance. TIBA will deploy its ParkBlue Wireless Bluetooth technology in select parking garages of some of North America’s largest property owners and parking operators, together with Parkwhiz. The first of many partnerships, TIBA plans to roll the technology out to thousands of parking locations. 

SpotHero and FlashParking announced a pilot program to enable drivers in Austin, TX who purchase parking with SpotHero to enter garages equipped with FlashParking’s FlashPARCS Smart Stations using the SpotHero app—a process the companies have coined “one-tap redemption.” With this technology, there’s no longer a need for drivers to roll down their car windows to redeem their parking reservation before entering parking garages.

ParkCloud announced the appointment of four new directors as it enters a new phase of expansion. Dr. Valentina Moise has been promoted from General Manager to Commercial Director. Joanna Cherry – former Finance Director of online travel retailer, On the Beach Group PLC – will lead ParkCloud’s accounts team. Gary Pyatt joins the ParkCloud team in the new role of Sales Director. Completing the senior team, Phil Windas is the newly appointed Marketing Director.

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. will begin construction on a new $20 million five-level, 293,000-square-foot parking garage for the City of Chandler next month. Upon completion in December 2019, the garage will include a minimum of 930 parking spaces, adding much needed parking options for those accessing City Hall as well as restaurants and other venues in bustling downtown Chandler. 

ParkMobile recently announced the launch of ParkMobile 360, a next generation management platform that enables clients to optimize parking inventory across multiple locations, manage rates in real-time, and analyze results. ParkMobile 360 includes a number of innovative features, including an Intuitive Calendar-Based Interface and a Rate Creator. ParkMobile has also launched a new service in the Westwood Village area of Los Angeles. This is part of an expanded relationship with LADOT to improve parking around the city. To pay for parking using the ParkMobile app, a user simply enters the zone number posted on the sticker, chooses the duration and touches the “start parking” button.

Flowbird Group has announced that their newest mobile application will launch in November 2018. The app, called flowbird, takes the customer friendly features from the company’s applications – Whoosh!, WayToPark, Yellowbrick, and PathToPark – and blends them together into one comprehensive mobility solution.

Cleverciti Systems Corp. and FoxNet, a Waterloo-based IT service provider, announced today a partnership to bring Cleverciti’s parking solutions to FoxNet‘s distribution network in the Canadian market. FoxNet will offer Cleverciti’s sensors and CIRC360 solution to its customers looking to harness the power of technology to streamline and enhance FoxNet’s parking system solution offerings for customers.

Australian technology and data management business DCA announced it completed the acquisition of Tenix Solutions on November 1st. Tenix Solutions are industry leaders in providing end-to-end compliance management, digital platforms, infringement processing and collections services for government enterprises and private sector organizations.

Ace Parking has launched ACE Mobility Solutions – a division dedicated to providing mobility solutions bridging traditional parking operations with emerging technologies including autonomous and internet-enabled vehicles, smart city initiatives, curb management, ride-share services, traffic flow, pedestrian safety, mass transit, alternative travel modes including scooters and bikes, data-driven operating strategies, and more. 

Nedap launches the NB-IoT version of its SENSIT smart parking sensor. SENSIT is the sensor-based vehicle detection system that enables motorists to quickly find available parking spaces. With the introduction of the new sensor, Nedap empowers Smart Cities and other urban areas to collect real-time parking data using their NB-IoT network. During the Smart City Expo in Barcelona from Nov. 13-15, Nedap will demonstrate its new smart parking sensor to the market.

Inugo announced that the City of Pasadena has chosen Inugo as their partner of choice and will be installing the Inugo solution into three of their downtown garages. “We are delighted to be working with the City of Pasadena to transform the way visitors park” said Sam Barclay, CEO of Inugo “Inugo will allow drivers to find parking easily, park ticketlessly and charge them automatically when they leave. 

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) customers in Mineola can now pay for parking by smartphone. LIRR president Phillip Eng announced that the railroad is working with Passport, the global leader in mobility technology solutions. The app will begin accepting parking payments at the LIRR’s Mineola Intermodal Center, at 65 Third Avenue in Mineola, which has parking for 960 cars. 

The District Department of Transportation’s ParkDC program has been named Innovative Organization of the Year by the National Parking Association for its work with Conduent Transportation, a business unit of digital interactions company Conduent Incorporated (NYSE: CNDT), to make parking in Washington, D.C., easier. The award, announced late last month at the association’s Annual Convention & Expo in Las Vegas, recognizes innovation, excellence, best practices and client partnership.
