Southern Time’s Jerry Herndon

n March 6, 2018 my partner of 38 years passed away. Southern Time has been in the parking sales and support business for 37 years. Jerry Herndon was the president since 1984.

Jerry was one of the founders of the PARC Group and was a leader in his community. He always had a funny joke to tell anyone. He had everyone in the room laughing and feeling positive.

Jerry became interested in clocks when he bought an antique mantel clock - never knowing one day it would lead him into the time clock and parking business. Jerry never met a stranger. His wit and laughter would light up a room. He was a self-made business man known for being a fair, sharing employer. 

God blessed Jerry for being such a giving loving person. His children and grandchildren were the joys of his life. He loved working with the young people in the Awanas program for many years. He loved his God and his church. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Wil Med Rehab and specially Bob, for the wonderful care and love given to him. Also, to the wonderful staff and doctors at UNC Chapel Hill. 

Southern Time has always been a leader in parking system technology and has offered APD, Federal APD, 3M, TIBA and Designa Parking system to customers in North and South Carolina.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his family, his partner and his employees.

Southern Time has recently been partially purchased by Designa and continues to provide sales and support to their customers in the Carolinas.
