 SP Plus Corp., a leader in parking management, ground transportation and ancillary services, has announced an alliance with MGM Resorts International to assume management of parking facility operations at MGM’s Las Vegas resorts. The company will operate approximately 40,000 parking spaces located in 12 premier resort properties, including Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas and Mandalay Bay. The spaces also will accommodate spectators attending The Strip’s newly constructed, 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena entertainment, special event and sports complex. In other news, SP+ Municipal Services has been awarded a long-term contract to manage a new comprehensive parking program for the City of Annapolis, MD, involving about 2,000 off- and on-street parking spaces, as well as to provide shuttle bus, marketing and reservation/on-demand services.

 

The Mid-Atlantic division of Sentry Control Systems has moved to Ashburn, VA, from its longtime location in Frederick, MD. The new 15,000-square-foot complex will provide much-needed space for the company’s continued expansion on the East Coast. Headquartered in Van Nuys, CA, the company is the fastest-growing provider of parking solutions and technologies in the U.S.

 

Klein and Hoffman, a Chicago-based architectural restoration and structural engineering firm, earlier this year announced a new company shareholder: John Birazzi, AIA, CSI, CDT, LEED AP, as Associate Principal. An expert in life safety evaluations, due diligence reviews of existing buildings, and forensic architectural investigations, he has more than 33 years of experience as registered architect. In other news, Kyle Stanish, S.E., P.E., has joined the firm as a Senior Associate. His expertise includes both structural and materials assessment; he also has a doctorate in concrete materials.

 

Parker Technology, the Indianapolis-based video intercom innovator, has announced two milestones designed to fuel the company’s growth and development. The technology start-up raised an additional $500,000 in cash from existing investors (pushing its total capital raised to $1.7 million), and has hired Brian Wolff, an experienced tech entrepreneur as President and CEO. 

 

REV Group, formerly Allied Specialty Vehicles, notes that bus manufacturer ElDorado National California, a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, has a new logo and branding: ENC. In an effort to simplify the name that is iconic to such a strong product line, REV has developed a streamlined logo, which is designed to be robust, clean and sleek, with a color palette to match other REV family brands.

 

Barron Lighting Group has announced the appointments of three key roles within the organization: Rich Bernhardt, National Sales Manager; Michael Martinez, Midwest Regional Vice President; and Claudia Campeau, Trace*Lite Brand Manager. “It is meaningful to have promoted these individuals from within our company, which is full of talent,” said Owner and President Alan Tracy.

 

Code Blue Corp., the industry-leading manufacturer of emergency communication solutions, has been recognized as one of the 2016 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” an awards program presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. “This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication in making Code Blue a leader in security and tech manufacturing,” CEO David Cook said. Park Assist has been awarded the contract to deliver the FlinQ Solution for the Scentre Group national operations center. With 40 shopping centers spread across Australia and New Zealand, the company saw an opportunity to centralize its carpark operations in Australia to deliver a consistently high customer service experience. As the system’s Integrator, Park Assist – backed by TKH sister companies Flexposure and Commend – will be deploying, customizing and supporting a single operational command center interface for their operators.

 

The New London (CT) City Council has approved the appointment, by Mayor Michael Passero, of Carey E. Redd II as Director of the city’s Parking Authority. “Carey Redd brings a wealth of experience, professionalism and parking know-how to the newly created post that will redefine the Parking Authority in support of economic development and visitation in New London,” the mayor said.

UK-based ParkCloud, Europe’s largest parking aggregator, reported earlier this year that it saw a rise of more than 50% in the number of carparks available on its platform since the start of 2015. Increased geographical coverage and further choices were added throughout the year, with notable collaborations across Europe, the U.S. and Australia.
