New Ownership, New Name Announced for WPS Parking Solutions’ Parent Company

April, 2016

WPS Parking Solutions, a pioneer of intelligent barcode technology for parking solutions in North and South America, has announced its new ownership entity. Effective late February, the company formerly known as Imtech Traffic and Infra will move into the future of parking

and technology under the name of Dynniq, with its home base located in The Netherlands.

Founded in 1985 as the first company to incorporate intelligent barcode technology with parking control systems, WPS Parking Solutions said it benefits from the new parent company’s robust portfolio of experienced and proven technology interests throughout the world.

With established field offices in LA and Washington, DC, since 1997, WPS USA has a dealer network operating in 21 U.S. cities.

“We are positioning ourselves in three core markets: energy, mobility and parking,” said Dynniq CEO, Cees de Wijs. “Our new name was derived from four powerful components: Dynamics, Technology, Innovation and Intelligence.” He went on to validate that the WPS name is well-known, and because of its strong history and exceptional track record, “the WPS name will not change.”

The company’s signature product innovations include Internet-based reporting and validation production; E-billing and E-payment by credit card; and digital permitting via the Internet. WPS said it offers the lowest cost of ownership versus all conventional systems due to sustainable design and “green” technology built into the products.

“WPS USA is excited about Dynniq’s renewed focus on parking,” said Russell Miller, General Manager for WPS West. “This has resulted in a doubling of our R&D budget for 2016. We have new product releases scheduled for later this year.”
