Amano McGann has partnered with Parking Panda on the integration of its OPUSuite Cloud application and FlexScan on-premise technology with PandaScan technology. Users will be able to find and book prepaid parking through the app or website, and seamlessly scan into any Amano parking facility with its technology. Reservations will be consolidated and available for both count and revenue reconciliation with OPUSuite, which brings together operational and financial data. This allows remote management of multiple facilities for consolidated management, reporting analytics and PandaScan. 

 

PayByPhone, a leader in mobile payments for parking, has joined forces with location and reservations provider ParkJockey to deliver a comprehensive set of on- and off-street parking services to parking authorities, operators and consumers. Through the partnership, PayByPhone will integrate ParkJockey’s off-street parking location and reservation services into its mobile app — and vice versa. The partnership will initially focus on the U.S., Canada and the UK.

 

Parkmobile and the City of Athens, OH, have announced a program that lets customers use their mobile phones to pay for parking at about 800 metered spaces throughout the city. They can pay for parking with their cellphone using its mobile apps for iPhone, Android, Windows 7, Amazon and BlackBerry smartphones. The app is intended to complement, not replace, existing payment options (credit and debit cards, coins).

This descriptive marketing domain addresses all core services and industries related to the multibillion-dollar parking industry, the company said. It also is designed to offer a simple and easy way to remember an online name that “connects all the dots” — and parking spaces — within a community.

 

The City of Fayetteville, AR, has hired Scott Kangas as head of its Parking Management Division. He brings to the city more than 30 years of parking business experience in both private and public sectors. His expertise includes ADA compliance, facility maintenance and repair, and parking safety and security. 

 

The Sacramento Regional Transit system has announced a new citywide mobile option for transit fare payments. RideSacRT, developed by mobile payment provider Passport, was to launch last month, allowing users to plan, track and pay for their RT system trip from their smartphone. The app is designed to improve efficiency in the day-to-day operations of the transit system, and provide it with “data intel” on commuter patterns, purchases and ridership. 

 

Four new multi-space parking meters, provided by IPS Group, are up and running in two city parking lots in Chico, CA, reports KRCR-TV News. They replace 340 single-space meters. “Maintenance-wise, the single-space meters all take batteries, individually, so this is definitely cost-effective,” said Wyatt West, the city’s Assistant Engineer. “But more

than just being cost-effective, it’s actually adding the convenience of credit card [payment].”

 

Sygic GPS Navigation, an offline mapping app on Android, is adding a wealth of information from parking aggregator Parkopedia. It not only shows parking locations, but also can give detailed information and even let you pay for parking. The new integration joins several other apps that are “baked” right into Sygic, including Yelp and TripAdvisor, so you won’t have to leave the app to get everything done. It is free to download from Google Play.

 

Chamberlain Group Inc. (CGI) has acquired two Antech Guardian affiliates, based in Tucson. Guardian Traffic Systems (GTS) and Guardian Gate Hinges (GGH) are part of Antech’s perimeter access (PA) solutions. The GTS line will support CGI’s LiftMaster brand by diversifying its offerings, adding road spikes, traffic barriers and systems to its current line of PA products. “The Chamberlain Group is excited about the opportunities this acquisition presents,” said Bob Markwart, President of LiftMaster Americas. Antech will continue to be run as a stand-alone business, led by President David Roher and the company’s management team and sales force.

 

On-demand parking marketplace SpotHero has expanded from San Francisco into Oakland and the East Bay. It enables drivers to reserve parking at more than 35 facilities around Oakland, with rates starting as low as $7 per day. The company partners with parking operators who give it access to their unsold spots. Drivers can find and prepay parking through its Android app, iOS app or website. SpotHero now offers parking at more than 150 Bay Area locations. Through its marketplace, parking in San Francisco costs as low as $10 to $15 per day, the

company said.
