Park Assist has partnered with Scheidt & Bachmann to provide “a smoother parking experience” at a German shopping center. The completed integration between its proprietary Find-Your-Car feature and S&B’s PARC payment machines allows customers to effortlessly pay and find their cars when leaving the garage. “(This) creates a new premium-parking product that offers more options for parkers,” said Gary Neff, CEO of Park Assist. 

 

Mobile parking platform Park Genius has announced a corporate name change to ParkX to reflect “its broader scope of services and commitment to customizing clients’ needs,” the company said. The app allows motorists to pay for and remotely add time to any parking space using their smartphone. The move was prompted by a rebranding strategy aimed at the company’s becoming “an all-encompassing solution for parking providers and motorists alike.”

 

Desman has announced the return of Robert Weissenborn to its New York Design Group. The licensed architect, a recognized expert in parking facility planning and design, with more than 30 years of specialized knowledge, will lead the firm’s East Coast operation through his project management skills, technical oversight, client relationship and business development expertise.

 

HUB Parking Technology has been chosen by Port Canaveral, FL, one of the world’s busiest cruise ports. Its Cruise Terminal 1 is the fifth of the parking lots that have been fitted with the company’s DataPark equipment. The port now has 41 lanes of it, which include lane entry and exit stations with credit card only, full-size paystations, handheld fee computers, AVI and IP intercom.

 

Passport Parking and the City of Boston have launched ParkBoston, a fully-tailored private label solution. Mayor Martin Walsh announced earlier this year that the city was rolling out the new mobile app that lets drivers search and pay for parking using their smartphones, as well as check their parking meters. The app was a quick success, the city said, receiving more than 10,000 downloads in the first week of its release. 

 

Ofer Tziperman has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of On Track Innovations, an Israel-based leader in contactless and NFC applications. In February, he notified the Board of Directors of his resignation, for personal reasons, from his respective positions as company CEO and as Executive Officer and Board Member of its subsidiaries. Tziperman will continue to serve as company CEO until the earlier of Aug. 10, 2015, or such time as a suitable replacement has been hired and his duties have been effectively transitioned.

T2 Systems has installed 154 TagMaster readers for Duke University parking in Durham, NC. T2 Flex, a comprehensive and campus-wide parking system, manages parking access and revenue control, permits, enforcement and event parking. T2 also provided the TagMaster Model XT-3 hands-free access control system. The long-range UHF readers were integrated into T2’s unified solution to allow for quick, hands-free vehicle access for students, faculty and staff at more than 50 university parking areas.

 

MobileNOW! has launched its payment solution in five downtown Indianapolis lots managed by Denison Parking. Its platform fully integrates with NuPark, an LPR-based total parking management solution. Parkers will use their license plate numbers to pay for monthly or flat-rate daily parking permits.

 

Parkmobile donated 25% of transaction fees from its parking app to the Penn State Dance Marathon. It was conducted in February not only to raise money for the Four Diamonds fund at the university’s Hershey Children’s Hospital, but also to provide support to families in the fight against pediatric cancer. Four Diamonds (Courage, Wisdom, Honesty and Strength) helps families by offsetting the cost of treatment when insurance can no longer cover it, allowing them to focus more on the care for their child.

 

Mike Werner has joined Omnipark as President. Most recently, he was Director of Asset Management for the City of Spokane. During his tenure there, his team led implementation of a new parking system that installed 800 smartmeters in the downtown core; created an analytical tool to evaluate the performance of city real estate assets; implemented a facilities maintenance and energy management platform; and managed the city’s real estate portfolio and capital planning.
