TIba Parking Systems is pleased to announce that David K. Tilley has joined the company Tiba Parking Systems as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Tilley has executive experience in working with public and private Fortune 500 companies representing systems integration and manufacturers of electronic security and vehicle access control systems technology and was most recently with TransCore.  Since 1999, Tilley’s major focus has been in developing strategic market solutions with hospitals, colleges, universities, airports, financial institutions, corporate campuses, municipalities, national retail chains, and resort communities among others.  Tilley has a proven ability to work directly with consultants, architects, manufacturers, engineers, system integrators, and end users and will bring this experience to bear in support of TIBA’s accelerated growth.”



Sentry Control Systems has announced that Blair Taylor has joined the company as VP of Business Development, Southeast Region. Taylor is a nationally-known authority on parking technologies, and the integration and design, procurement, and implementation of complex parking systems. In his new position, he will promote, grow, and develop Sentry’s product lines throughout the Southeastern United States, while supporting the company’s national marketing efforts. “Blair Taylor is well-known and highly respected throughout the parking industry, and we are proud to welcome him to the company,” said Frank Flanagan, Principal of Sentry Control Systems. “Sentry is the parking industry’s leading provider of integrated technology solutions, and Blair’s leadership will be a tremendous asset as we continue to introduce new parking technologies and integrated technology packages to private and public developers, parking owners, and operators.”



MaxLite, a global manufacturing and marketing leader of energy-efficient lighting solutions for parking and parking garage facilities, announces the appointment of Paul Shaskan as vice president of operations. In this newly created position, Shaskan will oversee the expansion of assembly and production lines at the company’s West Caldwell headquarters and new facility in Anaheim, California, as well as manage global operations, including logistics, quality control and warranty service, at MaxLite offices in China and Korea. Shaskan will report to MaxLite General Manager Todd Kim.



Michael Harlow has been named the Western U.S. Regional Sales Manager for ParkHelp U.S.A. Parkhelp has been leaders for over ten years in intelligent guidance systems solutions for improving customer service and mobility in parking.  It has over 250,000 spaces installed in over 47 Countries. In the western region ot have recently installed Desert Hill Premium Outlets (1,600 spaces) and the Premium Outlet Las Vegas North (2,100 spaces). The Company’s services include: Dynamic signage, single space counts and lighting, directional signage, level counts, wireless sensors, parking management software and much more.

Bijan Eghtedari, Park One CEO, has announced the hiring of David Buchanan as Senior Vice President to lead the company’s office in Mobile, AL. A 15-year veteran of the industry, he previously was a Regional Manager for Central Parking System.



The Facility Services business of ABM has been selected to provide a full range of facilities engineering maintenance services for Commonwealth Partners properties across the Western and Midwestern U.S. The deal builds upon firm’s existing contract with ABM Parking Services. The multi-year, multimillion-dollar contract spans a number of key markets including LA, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Salt Lake City and Washington, DC.



Fir green parking paystations began showing up on the sidewalks of Schenectady recently, replacing the old mechanical meters which only accepted coins. The new solar-charged terminals, installed by Cale America, accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover in addition to coins. The new dual-language kiosks provide easy-to-read instructions in both English and Spanish, and issue a receipt which customers can display on their dashboard and keep as proof of payment. “We are very excited for the citizens and visitors of Schenectady to have a convenient way to pay for parking,” said Chris Wallin, City Engineer for Schenectady Traffic Services. “The new kiosks will also reduce the City’s enforcement, collections and maintenance costs while creating a more modern downtown experience.”

Xerox and Parkmobile have been selected by the city of St. Louis to upgrade its parking meter technology. Xerox will be responsible for upgrading parking meters and software technology, while Parkmobile will be responsible for launching a smartphone app to pay for parking. Xerox was one of four companies to respond to an RFP issued last fall by the city’s Treasurer’s Office as part of an ongoing effort to modernize operations. The goal is a cost-effective on-street parking system that allows drivers to use cash, credit cards and mobile phones to pay for parking.



HUB Parking Technology has closed the acquisition of Parking & Time Recording Services (PTRS). The Australian company, successfully active for more than 15 years in the market of vehicular access control, specializes in providing installations and qualified maintenance services. Based in the Sydney area, it has a long story of cooperation with the FAAC Group, being a local distributor of Zeag parking systems and installer of FAAC gate automation. PTRS employees will be part of HUB Australia management.



The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), has started updating all of the city’s single-space parking meters. Most of the multi-space meters (or paystations) have already been upgraded. This program will only upgrade existing meters and will not add additional meters to the parking supply. IPS from San Diego was selected as the vendor for the project. “Upgrading our parking meters is one more step in making our parking system smarter and easier, while providing more convenient payment options for those who need to park in San Francisco,” said Ed Reiskin, SFMTA Director of Transportation. “These benefits will ultimately make our transportation system more efficient, while continuing to reduce the number of parking citations throughout the city.” The project covers 24897 meters.



Scheidt & Bachmann and serva transport systems GmbH have eliminated the need to search for a parking space and even to park the vehicle. The Scheidt & Bachmann reservation system first allocates a space in a certain area of the car park before a robot made by serva transport systems actually parks the car in the assigned place. This service, which cuts out the often tedious process of finding a gap and maneuvering into it, is offered to passengers at Düsseldorf Airport, Germany. Parking robot “Ray” is currently “doing the rounds” in the PremiumPlus area of the airport’s P3 multi-story car park. “Ray’s” job there is to maneuver the cars into their parking spaces after they have been left by passengers at one of the six handover stations. There are currently around 250 parking spaces available in this area, although not in the size usually expected. “Ray” measures the vehicles and parks them bumper-to-bumper and wing mirror-to-wing mirror in order to save space.



QuikPark LAX, a newly constructed 2,500 stall off-airport parking facility selects Sentry Control Systems to install SKIDATA for their parking access & revenue control system (PARCS). The installation consists of eight lanes (four in, four out) with a credit card in/out option (ticketless). QuikPark, a subsidiary of Ace Parking, holds 20+ years of experience in off-airport parking.  The new 24 hour facility is conveniently located within half a block from LAX offering valet and self-parking with free shuttle service to and from the airport’s terminals.
