Chicago O’Hare Airport Selects Scheidt & Bachmann for PARCS

December, 2013

Scheidt & Bachmann has been awarded the contract to update the parking access and revenue control system (PARCS) at one of the world’s busiest airports, Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The installation phase of the project will commence in February 2014, and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

With the deployment of new hardware and Scheidt & Bachmann’s entervo V2R3 software solution, the airport expects to improve the customer experience, provide additional payment options, and increase traffic flow throughput.

Basic upgrade improvements to the airport’s parking system will include installation of 23 entry lanes, 27 exit cashier devices, and 16 barrier-free pay-on-foot (POF) stations. Enhancements to the parking operation include license plate recognition, a frequent parker program and mobile license plate inventory. It also will allow customers to reserve and prepay for their parking, and include some level of automation with the use of POF machines and express exit lanes.

“We are very excited at the opportunity to partner with the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA),” said Jeff Sparrow, VP of Sales for Scheidt & Bachmann USA. “[Our] ability to collaborate with large organizations on complex parking projects will be a tremendous asset on this project. We look forward to exceeding the expectations of the CDA and the City of Chicago.”
