Parkeon and ParkMe Win Big in Vegas

July, 2013

The city of Las Vegas, getting ready to upgrade its on-street parking system, has turned to Parkeon to deliver the solution. Last year, the city released an RFP searching for multi-space meter technology designed to improve customer service and make it easier for people to find and pay for parking downtown.

As part of the new system, Parkeon will deliver more than 200 solar-powered, wireless, multi-space meters – most of them in pay-by-space configuration. Parkers will benefit from being able to use either coins or credit cards, a receipt for proof of purchase, and “pay and go” convenience – no need to display the receipt on their dashboard.

Seventy of the meters will feature a 7-inch color screen, providing customers with a very friendly user interface. This also will allow the city the opportunity to offer, in the future, services to customers that go beyond parking.

Another convenience for the motorist will be a parking guidance solution, provided by ParkMe. The app is available for iPhone, and uses transactions from the Parkeon system to predict the best areas of the city for users to park.
